During the 2018 FIBA U18 Americas Championship hosted last month in St. Catharines, the Niagara College broadcasting, radio, television and film program was well represented. In collaboration with the FIBA hosting committee and Canada Basketball, BRTF students used their practical and technical expertise to broadcast the event to the world.
The event garnered more than 3.7 million views, of which 896 000 came from within Canada. The overall high caliber and professionalism of broadcast drew accolades throughout the event.
As a result of the NC Broadcasting students' skills and abilities, FIBA Americas has used footage from the 2018 Championship to produce a new corporate promotional video designed to showcase the event to business partners across the continent.
