The Niagara Knights men's golf team closed out their 2015-16 season with a sixth place finish at the Canadian University/College Golf Championship. The Knights fired a cumulative 27-over, 315 on the final day of the tournament at the Morningstar Golf Club in Parkview, BC.

The sixth place finish sees the Knights wrap up the event as the 2nd ranked school from the CCAA, finishing only behind the fifth place Camosun Chargers. They also finish as the second-ranked school from Ontario, behind only the Queen's Gaels who captured the tournaments bronze medal.  

Josiah Dixon (Bognor) was the Knights top individual finisher, rounding out the tournament with a 4-over 76 in his fourth round. Dixon wraps up the tournament with a cumulative 8-over, 296 for the week which was good enough to secure a tie in 11th place. Evan Littlefield (Thunder Bay) matched Dixon's closing round of 76 and wrapped up his tournament in a tie for 17th place with an 11-over, 299 for the week. Rounding out the Knights linedup were Nick Schepens (London), and Logan Lammerant (Seaforth) who finished tied 43rd, and 52nd, respectively for the week. Mark Wikkerink (Trenton), who entered the final round tied for 16th, was forced to withdraw during the final round due to injury.

On the women's side Lorelle Weavers (Burlington) failed to advance to Friday's final round, wrapping up the tournament with a three round cumulative total of 38-over, 254.

With the 2015-16 season officialy over, the Knights will hit the links next on August 19th and 20th at Hunters Pointe Golf Course, as tryouts for the 2016-17 season begin. The Knights are the defending OCAA men's team champion and CCAA silver medalists. Evan Littlefield and Lorelle Weavers will return to defend their OCAA individual titles as the 2016 OCAA Championship, hosted by Georgian College at the National Pines Golf Course from October 3-5, 2016.
