RECAP: Dixon maintains, Knights men lead entering final round at CCAA Championship

Josiah Dixon (Bognor) will enter the final round of the 2016 CCAA PING National Golf Championship as the leader. The Knights men will also enter the final round of play in the tournament's top spot, holding a two stroke lead over the Humber Hawks.

Dixon fired a 3-under 69 for a two-round total of 8-under 136. He maintains a one stroke lead over Humber's Conner Watt, who match Dixon's round two total. Dixon accumulated six birdies to go along with one bogey and one double bogey on the round. After falling out of the lead early in the day, he rounded out the day with three birdies on the final five holes to find himself as the clubhouse leader entering the tournament's final round.

The men's team, led by Dixon, also jumped two spots on day two to carry the lead into the final round. Logan Lammerant (Seaforth) was the only other Knight under par, shooting a 2-under 70. He opened with two bogeys on the first three holes, but finished strong with four birdies the remainder of the way to post the low round. Brett Shewchuk (Thunder Bay), Ben Kenel (Hamilton), and Evan Littlefield (Thunder Bay) rounded out the scoring for the Knights shooting 74, 76, and 81 respectively.

Lorelle Weavers (Burlington) enters the final day in 7th place, five strokes out of a medal position. She shot a 7-over 79 for a two day total of 13-over 157. Medicine Hat College's Becky Martin is the two round leader at 7-over, while a pair of Georgian College golfers sit tied for second at 8-over. Weavers will have some work to do on the final day if she wants to reach the CCAA podium for the second time in her Knights career.
