RECAP: Knights golf finish strong at OCAA Championship

Wednesday, October 4th saw the Niagara Knights golf team wrap up the 2017 OCAA Championship with a gold medal in division two of the men's team division. The event was hosted at Crimson Ridge golf club in Sault St. Marie.

The Knights won division two by a total of 17 strokes, ahead of St. Lawrence Kingston and Sault College who won the silver and bronze respectively. The Knights finished with the fifth best score in the men's team division.

The Knights' top finisher was veteran Logan Lammerant (Seaforth, ON) who after battling hard on day one of the event really found his game, shooting 75 and 76 over the final two rounds to finish in 8th place. Lammerant was the Knights lone returning player from a year ago.

The team was round out by four rookies in John Hickson (11th place, Grimsby), Nolan Von Kalckreuth (T-26th, Fort Erie), Marshall Pemberton (T-36, Guelph), and Andrew Noble (T-45, St. Catharines).

The Humber Hawks captured both the men's and women's division one team championships during the three day event.
