RECAP: Knights win bronze at Fanshawe Invitational

It was a strong start to the season for the Niagara Knights golf team, as they captured a bronze medal at the Fanshawe Invitational over the weekend. It was the first event of the season for the Knights, who enter 2018 looking to improve upon last year's OCAA Division 2 Gold Medal.

Shooting a cumulative 303, the Knights finished 8 strokes back of the Gold and Silver medal winning Fanshawe Falcons and Humber Hawks. It was a strong team performance across the board that put them in the upper echelon of the 12 team field.

Logan Lammerant and Chris Hallborg led the way for the Knights, each firing a 75 at the Par 72 Firerock Golf Club in Komoka, Ontario. The scoring for the team portion of the event was rounded out by Marshall Pemberton (76), Spencer Gates (77), and Matthew Gibson (79). Competing as individuals, Jason Maloney and CJ Henry carded a 79 and 82, respectively.

The Knights will return to the competition on September 20th, when they head north to Heritage Hills Golf Club to compete in the Georgian Invitational. They'll return home on September 24th for the annual Knights Classic, hosted at the Grand Niagara Golf Club in Thorold.
