September 27, 2019...WELLAND - The Niagara College Knights Varsity Golf team traveled to Heron Point Golf Links in Hamilton on Thursday, to compete in the McMaster/Mohawk Invitational. The "Mo/Mac" invitational is one of the largest and strongest fields of the tournament season with 17 schools participating.
The Knights were led by fourth-year Spencer Gates (Fort Erie), who shot an impressive 75 in extremely tough conditions, earning him a 3rd place finish individually.
As a team, the Knights rallied on the back nine and ultimately had the team finishing in 3rd place with a team total of 317- a good way to head into the Ontario Colleges Athletic (OCAA) Championships next week.
The team will head to Kingston Ontario for the OCAA Championships, beginning September 30th at Cataraqui Country Club.
