RECAP: Men's Basketball fall to #1 ranked Bruins

Tuesday night saw the Niagara Knights men's basketball program travel to Brampton to take on the OCAA's top-ranked Sheridan Bruins. Despite leading for the majority of the contest the Knights were unable to hold on, as fourth quarter run by the Bruins saw Sheridan come away with the 93-84 victory.

"Tonight was another great building game for us" said Knights men's basketball head coach Mike Hurley. "We played well for the frist three quarters, winning the first by three points, the second by two points and the third by one point respectively. We just ran out of gas in the fourth, allowing them to hit some timely threes."

Hamilton's Levi Mukuna led the Knights offensively, finishing with 23 points and eight rebounds. The six-foot-three forward made his return to the lineup after missing the previous two games with an injury.

Three Knights finished the game with double-doubles. Jordon McDonlad (Mississauga) continued his outstanding play, recording 20 points and 12 rebounds.  While Bahamian standouts Van Hutchinson Jr (Nassau) and Jordan Wilson (Nassau) finished with 18 and 10 and 12 and 12 respectively.

The loss drops the Knights to 5-3 on the season and into fourth place in the OCAA West Division. The team has two crucial home games remaining before heading into the mid-season break. Niagara will host the Humber Hawks (7-2, 3rd OCAA West) on December 8th before wrapping up 2017 on December 13th against the Fanshawe Falcons (5-4, 5th OCAA West). Tip-off for both games is scheduled for 8:00pm at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre.
