RECAP: Knights tame Cougars with commanding 95-52 home victory

The Niagara Knights men's basketball program began their weekend series against the Sault Cougars with a dominating 95-52 home victory. The win improves the Knights' regular season record to 12-7, keeping them at 4th spot in the OCAA West Division.

Friday night also served as the Knights annual men's basketball grad night, an event that saw graduating players Van Hutchinson Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas), Danny Lokole (Welland, Ont.) and Levi Mukuna (Hamilton, Ont.) honoured prior to opening tipoff.

The Knights controlled the game through all four quarters, consistently finding answers to the Cougar's attack.

The Knights were paced offensively by their 1st year guard Johnnie Richardson. The product of Niagara Falls, Ontario led the Knights in both points (21) and assists (7). Other strong performances came from forwards Jordan McDonald (Mississauga, Ont.) and Kevin Cooper (Nassau, Bahamas) who contributed 16 and 11 points to the winning cause.

The Knights are back at it again tomorrow night when they close out their regular season against the Sault Cougars. Tipoff is scheduled for 3pm.
