PREVIEW: Niagara set to host evenly matched UTM Eagles

 

The Niagara Knights men's basketball program (3-1, 3rd OCAA West) are set to host the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) Eagles on November 8th. Niagara got back in the win column on November 3rd against the Mohawk Mountaineers after a loss against the Humber Hawks at the 4th Annual Blue and White game. The game is set to tip-off at 8pm after the conclusion of the women's game.

In their limited play against one another, the Knights have the upper-hand against UTM, defeating them both times in their two matchups against each other. Playing twice last season in UTM's first OCAA season, Niagara won the first game on the road 81-58 and then took them down at home later on in the season, this time by a score of 81-69. Coming into the game tomorrow, UTM currently sits right in the middle of the OCAA West with a 2-2 record.

 

The Knights come into the matchup in fourth place in the OCAA offensively, averaging 96.3 points per game. Their opponent, the UTM Eagles, rank seventh in the same category with an average of 91.3 points per game. In the team rebounds category, Niagara sits in third in the OCAA averaging 48.0 rebounds per game while the Eagles are fourth with 47.0 per game.

Van Hutchinson Jr. (Nassau, Bahamas) leads the OCAA in rebounds per game, currently as he is currently averaging 11.8 per game. On top of his rebounds, Hutchinson Jr. is averaging 19.5 points, 5.3 assists and 3.0 steals per game.
