Bruins Spoil Knights Men's Basketball Home Opener 84-81

The Niagara College Knights men's basketball team opened their season at home in a thrilling 84-81 loss to the Sheridan Bruins Friday night.

Despite the loss, the home team put on an entertaining performance against the Bruins, and at one point were leading by 13 in the third.

 The Knights had a strong performance against the nationally ranked bruins losing a close game 84-81. The Knights were led by Jordon McDonald (5th year, Mississauga) 23 pts and 10 rebounds, Johnnie Richardson (3rd year, Niagara Falls) followed with 17 and Lequan Hylton (5th year, Mississauga) had 12 pts.

 "This was a solid effort by our guys and we proved that we can compete with any team in the league," said head coach Phil Mosley. "We are seeing progress each week and understand that each we must bring a consistent work ethic every time we step on the floor. Our veterans played outstanding and with more game experience our new guys will find ways to contribute as we move forward."

Next up the Knights, now 1-3 will tip-off against Mohawk College (2-2) on Thursday November 7th at 8:00 P.M. at the Niagara College Athletic Centre.
