RECAP: Knights fall to Falcons; Look to rebound against St. Clair

The Niagara Knights men's soccer program (5-2-1, 2nd OCAA West) dropped a 4-1 decision to the first place Fanshawe Falcons (5-0-1, 1st OCAA West) on October 11th.

After the Knights' starting goalkeeper Sam Robson (Milton, Ont.) left the game early due to an injury, the Falcons took advantage and scored unanswered goals in the 20th, 28th, and 60th minutes of the game. Knights' midfielder Alex Latham (Welland, Ont.) answered in the 71st minute to narrow the lead to 2, but it wasn't enough as the Falcons sealed the victory with their fourth of the game in the 84th minute.

After the game, head coach Frank DeChellis admitted his disappointment in the result of the game, but was confident his guys were ready to get back to work. "We just couldn't settle down and play our game. Fanshawe did nothing to cause that, we were the author of our own book of woes tonight. The mood after the game was reflective and constructive and that always makes coaches confident going into the next game. I am disappointed, but not unhappy, as we are still in good shape and aching to play again."

The Knights will look to rebound when they host the St. Clair Saints on Saturday, October 14th at Youngs Sportsplex. Kickoff is scheduled for 4pm.
