CCAA #3 Ranked Men's Volleyball Sweep Mohawk

Thursday night saw the CCAA #3 ranked Niagara College Men's Volleyball Program improve to an OCAA leading 13-3 on the season after an impressive 3-0 sweep over the visiting Mohawk Mountaineers. The Knights never trailed in the contest and the set scores were 25-18, 27-25, 25-17.

Leading the way offensively for Niagara was first-year outside hitter Jeff Scott. The six-foot-four Georgetown native recorded 10 kills, a stuff block, and 13 digs. The Niagara College Broadcasting student has been outstanding for the Knights this season, averaging 2.55 kills per set and 2.13 digs per set.

The Thursday night matchup was the final regular season home court game for the Knights this season. As a result the Niagara College Department of Athletics & Recreation formally recognized five graduating student-athletes for their contributions to Varsity Athletics Program.

The graduating players include Zack Weening, Starting Middle Blockers Sam Youlton and Millar Galbraith, OCAA West Region Scoring Leader Shayne Petrusma, and 2011-12 Team MVP Brad Wall.

The Knights will have little time to reflect on the victory, as the team will travel to London Friday night to take on the7-8 Fanshawe Falcons.
