Men's Volleyball

After picking up their first win of the 2014-15 season, the Niagara College men's volleyball (1-2, 6th West) program will be playing back to back games this weekend at home.

Up first for the Knights will be Cambrian College (1-3, 7th West) on Saturday, November 15th.  Cambrian is coming off a 3-0 loss to St. Clair (4-1, 2nd West), who was led offensively by Hayden Hosmerly with a team high 15 points.

Niagara swept the season series last season, 3-0 3-0.  Third year middle blocker Logan Varga(Brantford, ON) led the Knights with 16 points over two matches.  Logan is currently averaging 1.9 points per set.

The second game will be played on Sunday, November 16th against Boreal College (0-4, 9th West).  Boreal was defeated 3-0 by St. Clair in their last match.

The Knights never lost a set last season against Boreal, winning the series 3-0 3-0.  Third year outside hitter Ben Fillmore (Cayuga, ON) led Niagara with 17 points.

Player Watch:

#15 Nathan Snippe (Niagara): Nathan was just named OCAA athlete of the week after recording season highs with 17 points, four blocks and an ace against Redeemer last week.

#2 Hayden Hosmerly (Cambrian): Currently ranked 14th in the OCAA with 3.4 points per set.

#14 Kyle Chartrand (Boreal): Leading the team with 1.67 kills per set.
