Knights at Bruins

Wednesday, November 26th at Sheridan College. 8:00pm.

The Niagara college men's volleyball (4-2, 5th West) program will be looking to extend their win streak to five games Wednesday night, when they head on the road to face the Sheridan Bruins (5-2, 4th West).  After losing the first two games of the season, Niagara has won four straight matches, dropping only three sets during the streak.

After defeating the first place Humber Hawks in five sets, Sheridan fell to St. Clair (6-2, 3rd West) at home last week, 3-1.  A win on the road for the Knights would see them move into fourth place in the competitive OCAA West.

When these two teams met last season, the Knights won both contests 3-1.  Third year outside hitter Jeff Scott (Georgetown) led Niagara with 18 points in those two games.

Leading the way for the blue and white has been third year opposite hitter Nathan Snippe (St. Anns), who has been averaging 3.7 points per set, good for 11th in the province.  Fourth year St. Catharines native Steve Stone, playing his first year as setter, has made a tremendous transition.  Stone is currently ranked first overall in the OCAA with 9.94 assists per set.

Last match against the Conestoga Condors, fifth year middle blocker Aaron Vanderlugt (Burlington) had a game high four stuff blocks and finished the match with a kill percentage of 0.714.  Vanderlugt earned Niagara College Male Athlete of the Week honours for his effort (November 24th).
