Knights at Falcons. December 4. 8:00pm

After defeating the sixth ranked team in the country, the Niagara College men's volleyball (5-3, 6th West) program will be back at it again Thursday, as they head out on the road to face the tough Fanshawe Falcons (5-3, 5th West).  Last weekend's win over Humber College (7-2, 2nd West) helped the Knights leap three spots in the provincial rankings, up to sixth.

Winner of this match will move into a three way tie for third place, a great spot to be as each program heads into the break.  Fanshawe is coming off a win over St. Clair (6-3, 4th West) and have won three straight matches and four of their last five.  Earlier in the year Niagara fell to Fanshawe in an exhibition game 3-0.

The 2013-14 regular season series was split, with the home team winning each time.  In the postseason, Niagara faced Fanshawe in the Bronze medal semi-final game at Georgian College.  Fanshawe won 3-1 and went on to defeat Algonquin College to win the Bronze medal.  Third year outside hitter Jeff Scott (Georgetown) led the Knights with 43 points in those three matches, 16 in the semi-final loss.

These programs showcase two of the better setters in the province, Jack Daley (North Bay) from Fanshawe and Steve Stone (St. Catharines) from Niagara.  Daley is fourth in the province, while Stone is fifth and only 0.01 separate the two.  Stone finished with 32 assists in Sunday's win over Humber, earning the Niagara College Athlete of the Week award.
