Nemesis Volleyball’s Miller becomes friendly face for Knights

The Niagara Knights men's volleyball program is pleased to announce the addition of Treavon Miller for the 2016-17 OCAA season. The Scarborough native joins the Knights from Francis Liebermann Catholic High School and the STVC Nemesis Volleyball Club.

Miller will look to fill a void at the setter position vacated by the graduating Steve Stone, who tops the Knights all-time career assists list. Knights Head Coach Nathan Groenveld believes that Miller has the ability to be an immediate impact player in the lineup.

"We're very excited to welcome Treavon to the Knights," said Groenveld. "He is a tremendous athlete that will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in our lineup this season."

Most recently Miller's 18U STVC Nemesis squad captured a bronze medal at the Ontario Volleyball Championships. Speaking of his decision to attend Niagara, Miller cited a welcoming atmosphere and the Knights recent successes. "I chose Niagara because I feel like I can achieve success on the court with my teammates and coaches, and in the classroom in excelling with my studies," said Miller. He will be enrolling in the College's Child and Youth Care program beginning in September.

The Niagara Knights men's volleyball program begins tryouts on Monday, September 12th. Their 2016-17 OCAA season kicks off on the road on October 26th against the Fanshawe Falcons. They will return to the Welland Campus Athletic Centre for their home opener against the Mohawk Mountaineers on November 4th.
