NEWS: Jeff Scott set to become Niagara Knights all-time points leader

Jeff Scott (Georgetown) is set to become the Niagara Knights men's volleyball program's career points leader. Scott sits only six points away from tying, and seven points from breaking, the record set in 2003 by Knights Hall of Fame member Graeme Gaunt.

Through his first three matches this season, Scott has tallied 61 points, moving his career points total to 754. Gaunt's record stands at 760 points, which he racked up in four seasons with the Knights from 1999-2003.

Scott is already the holder of a number of Knights career records, including matches played (70), digs (459), and service aces (73). His first opportunity to set the career points mark will come on Friday evening when the Knights visiting the Redeemer Royals in Ancaster. He is averaging over 20 points per match so far this season, and there is a strong chance he will break the record against the Royals.

It will not be the first time Scott has earned accolades in his distinguished collegiate career. Last season he received recognition as a CCAA All-Canadian and an OCAA First-Team All-Star. He was named an OCAA Championship All-Star and CCAA Championship Second Team All-Star en route to the Knights earning provincial gold and national bronze during the 2014-15 season. During his rookie season in 2012-13, Scott was named OCAA Rookie of the Year and OCAA Second Team All-Star.
