RECAP: Men's Volleyball fall to Royals

Wednesday, February 15th saw the Niagara College men's volleyball program lose a four set match to the visiting Redeemer Royals. The set scores in the contest were 27-29, 25-29, 25-28, 25-10.

The event served as the annual Niagara Knights volleyball grad game. Graduating veterans Jeff Scott, Matt Friesen, Andrew VandenBurg, Tyler Vanderwal, Mike Dulmage, and Adam Vandendool were all honoured prior to the first serve.

The Knights struggled to find any rhythm in the contest, and were unable to keep pace with the 12-6 Royals as a result. The team was paced by fourth year middle blocker Logan Varga (Brantford) who finished with nine kills and a block.

The loss sees the Knights finish the regular season with a record of 9-9 and in fifth place in the OCAA West division. The team will now travel to Toronto to face the George Brown Huskies in an OCAA playoff match. The game is set for Sunday, February 19th. The winner of Sunday's playoff game will advance to the OCAA Championship being hosted by Mohawk from February 24-26.
