The Niagara College men's volleyball program is pleased to announce the addition of dynamic outside hitter Jaydon Milne. Milne joins the Knights from the powerhouse Francis Libermann Falcons high school program, and the Toronto Onyx club volleyball system.
The dynamic six-foot-three outside hitter from Scarborough brings the Knights an impressive resume including MVP awards in 2016 at both the high school and club level. His Libermann Falcons team captured the 2015 Toronto District Catholic High School Championship, and he also took a lead role in helping the team qualify for a pair of OFSAA Championships.
"Jaydon is a skilled and athletic outside hitter who we feel will make an immediate impact on our program" said Niagara College men's volleyball head coach Nathan Groenveld. "He has an incredibly fast arm, and has the ability to be a ball control outside hitter that can score."
The leftside player will enroll in the Niagara College fitness and health promotion program beginning in September of 2017.
"Niagara College is a great community and a place that I will fit in very well" said Milne. "I just felt the environment was a perfect fit between athletics and academics. I'm really looking forward to getting started."
Milne joins a Knights side that is perennially among the top teams in the ultra-competitive OCAA West Division. Over the last five seasons, the Knights have cruised to a record of 63-27.
"I want to improve my skills, develop as an athlete, and help put the team in the best position to win. And I think coach Groenveld and the Niagara give me the best opportunity to accomplish that" said Milne.
Added Gorenveld "We are truly excited to have Jaydon joining our program. He is a great person from a great family, and we look forward to helping him reach his potential."
The Niagara College men's volleyball program will officially open the 2017-18 season when training camp begins on Tuesday, September 12th.
