PREVIEW: Knights look to ground Hawks with 3rd straight victory

PREVIEW: Knights look to ground Hawks with 3rd straight victory

The Niagara Knights men's volleyball program (4-2, 4th OCAA West) will look for their third consecutive win when they travel to Toronto, Ont. to face off against the west division rival Humber Hawks (4-2, 3rd OCAA West). In last year's season series between the two west division programs, the Hawks swept the season series 2-0.

If the Knights hope to earn a victory in Toronto Wednesday night, they must find a way to shut Humbers trio of outside hitters Dylan Devecseri, Kamyn Wilkins and Clayton Blanchette, who are all currently averaging 3+ points per set. Strong team defense will be the deciding factor on who comes out victorious Wednesday night.

Since returning from an early season injury, Knights 4th year setter Ben Fillmore (Port Dover, Ont.) has been the backbone of his team's offence, leading his program to two straight five set victories. His ability to keep his teammates composed under pressure is something that this young and inexperienced program truly needs.

After earning player of the week honors, Knights' rookie outside hitter Jaydon Milne (Toronto, Ont.) looks to build on his 17 kill showing over the Saints with another strong outing Wednesday night. Milne's ability to generate kills, as well as his ability to cause havoc from the serving line, makes him a dangerous player wherever he is on the court.

The highly anticipated match between the two west division rivals is set for 8pm.
