PREVIEW: After tough start to season, Knights looking to win third straight match

The Niagara Knights men's volleyball program (2-3, 7th OCAA West) will look to get back to .500 record with a win over the Redeemer Royals on Friday. The Knights, who are playing host to the Royals, are coming off a weekend sweep against Cambrian and Boreal. Niagara began their season with an 0-3 record, so picking up a win against the Royals on Friday would put them at 3-3.

The Redeemer Royals currently sit in fourth place in the OCAA West, having amassed a record of 3-2 so far. So far through their five matches, the Royals have won 11 sets and dropped seven.

Looking at the history between the two opponents, dating back to 1994, the Knights have a 29-15 record against the Royals, including a 16-6 record at home. In total, the Knights have won 102 sets in those 44 contests, while the Royals have won 69.

Jaydon Milne (Toronto) currently leads the Knights averaging 2.79 kills per set, which places him 17th among all OCAA players.

Niagara's Setter, Ben Fillmore (Port Dover), currently ranks 11th in the OCAA averaging 7.11 assists per set.

The Knights and the Royals will battle it out on November 16th at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre. The match is scheduled to begin at 8pm, or thirty minutes after the conclusion of the women's match.
