Knights Fall in Five to Condors in Race for Second in OCAA West

January 23, 2020…WELLAND – The Niagara College Knights men's volleyball team had their three game win streak come to a halt last night at the hands of the Conestoga Condors. The Condors set the tone early, taking set one 26-24 to go up 1-0, before the Knights came back to win sets two and three. But it was the Condors ultimately emerging with the 3-2 (24-15, 26-24, 25-18, 19-25, 10-15) win.

With the win, Conestoga maintains second the place position in a tight OCAA West division race at 9-3. The Knights now sit two points behind with their 8-4 record and currently sit third in the West.

The Knights were led by their usual suspects, Sam Otten (5th year, Toronto)  (19 pts) Ashton Fehr (3rd year, Leamington)  (14) and Colin Prelaz (1st year, London) (13 pts). Setter Robbie Zalewski (3rd year, Ingersoll) led with 44 assists.

As the end of the regular season nears, every win is crucial for the Knights here on out, with last night's loss no doubt still stinging for head coach Tommy Sloan.

The Knights will now have a week to prepare for the undefeated Humber Hawks on January 30th at home.
