Knights Earn 3-1 Win over Royals

November 21, 2022 - The Niagara Knights men's volleyball program has things rolling in the right direction again after a 3-1 win over the Redeemer Royals Saturday afternoon in Ancaster. The Knights have now won two straight after dropping their two home matches on November 4th and November 11th and now sit with a 4-2 record.

Redeemer opened the match with a 21-25 win in set one before the Knights stormed back to take three straight sets by scores of 29-27, 25-22, 25-22.

"I'm proud of the boys grit in this one," said head coach Steve Stone. "Redeemer is a tough barn to win in and the guys played with fight and perseverance that led to a big team win."

The blue and white were led by Elijah Bugiardini and Dallas Melnick who recorded 11 kills each in the victory, while the team recorded 41 kills with 14 errors on 88 attempts for a .307 hitting percentage.

Next up for the Knights will be their final two games of the Fall term when they host back-to-back games this weekend. Boreal College (0-7) will roll into town for a Saturday afternoon 3:00pm match, followed by Sunday at 3:00pm against the Cambrian Golden Shield (6-2).
