Knights Fall to Lambton

Knights Fall to Lambton

The 2-4 Niagara Knights women's basketball team lost a tight game to the 3-3 Lambton College Lions on Sunday, November 18th. The visiting Lions edged out a 68-66 victory, led offensively by guard Riley Williams who recorded a game high 26 points.

Knights' Assistant Coach Don Larman felt that his team "didn't execute like we needed to."  The Knights struggled at times to generate offensive momentum, trailing by as many as eight points until late in the fourth quarter.

In the dying minutes however, the Knights began to pressure the Lions.  Led by fifth year guard Allana Arundell the Knights outscored the Lions 25-19 in the final frame. Arundell, a Child and youth worker student recorded 11 fourth quarter points, but the Knights came up short in their comeback effort. Arundell finished the game with a team high 23 points, and added 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Heading into Sunday's contest, the Knights had won their previous two games, and look to get back into the win column moving forward.

The Knights have a few days off before heading to Sault St. Marie for a pair of contests next weekend against the Sault College Cougars and Algoma University Thunderbirds. Larman feels the Knights need to "prepare well this week, and look after the little things" In preparation for next weekend's northern opponents.

The Knights' next home game is scheduled for Sunday, December 2nd at 1:00pm when the team hosts the St. Clair College Saints. All Knights games feature free admission.
