Ron Lemon Retires as Head Coach of Women's Basketball

Tuesday, May 14th saw Ron Lemon announce his formal retirement as Head Coach of the Niagara College Women's Basketball Program.

Niagara College Manager of Athletics & Recreation Matthew Davies commented "Coach Lemon is a member of the Welland Sports Hall of Fame and has been a staple of the Niagara Region Basketball community for years. We would like to thank him for his contribution to the development of Niagara College student-athletes over the last ten seasons."

A native of Welland, Ontario, Lemon has enjoyed a successful coaching career that has spanned over 50 years. During that time he was named OCAA West Division Coach of the Year, and is a two-time recipient of the Niagara College Coaching Excellence Award.

The Niagara College Department of Athletics & Recreation will name Coach Lemon's successor in the coming days as the Women's Basketball Program is scheduled to help lead three sections of the Niagara Kids' College summer camp program July 29-August 2, August 6-9, and August 19-23.
