The Niagara College women's basketball (11-7, 5^th West) program is head to Toronto, Ontario to participate in the 2014-15 OCAA Championship.  Niagara's first match will be on Thursday, March 5^th against the Humber Hawks (17-1, 1^st West). 

For the first time in five seasons, the Knights have advanced to the provincial tournament and are looking to capture their first medal since the 2002-03 season.  Niagara has won seven of their last eight contests and has their sights on winning as least three more.

Standing in their way for game one is the 11^th ranked team in the CCAA, the Humber Hawks.  The Hawks swept the series during the regular season, winning by an average of 18.5 points during the two contests.  After losing at Humber on January 15^th, the Knights have played some of their best basketball of the year. 

The Hawks have three student-athletes who finished the season averaging 10.9 points per game or better.  Aleena Domingo is averaging 11.4, while Ceejay Nofuente and Llyandra Kerr are averaging 11.3 and 10.9 each. 

The Knights are led by Welland native Courtney McPherson.  McPherson is averaging team-high's 12.9 points and 10.4 rebounds per game, ranking the five-foot-eleven forward ninth in the CCAA in rebounding. 

The last time Niagara played in the OCAA championship in 2010-11, they lost in the first round 66-59 to Seneca College.
