The Niagara College men's and women's basketball programs will be hosting a Basketball ID Camp on May 23rd at 12:00pm at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre. The camp is an opportunity for players to showcase their athletic abilities while competing against some of the top prospective OCAA basketball recruits in the province.
Niagara College men's and women's basketball head coaches Keith Vassell and Mike Beccaria will be leading and evaluating all talent during the three hour camp. These coaches will be assisted by members of the Knights intercollegiate basketball programs and members of their respective coaching staffs in evaluating attendees via physical testing, skill evaluation, and a 5v5 scrimmage.
Coach Vassell said the goal for this camp is to help identify some of the best athletes in Ontario in a competitive and controlled setting.
"The interest in joining our programs for the upcoming season has been overwhelming" said coach Vassell. "This event will see participants showcase their abilities while competing in physical testing, individual skills, one-on-one situations, and in team system scenarios. Both Coach Beccaria and myself are excited to see the talent and compete levels of these athletes on full display.

This program is intended to evaluate each player athletically. The camp is a great opportunity for prospective OCAA basketball players looking to showcase their skills in the pursuit of post-secondary basketball.

Cost: Registration is FREE and open to all eligible players and ages. Donation of a non-perishable food item is encouraged. Free Knights Basketball t-shirt to all attendees.

Keith Vassell enters his second season as head coach for the Niagara College men's basketball program. Coach Vassell has spent the last eight years coaching at post-secondary and professional levels. For 11 seasons, Coach Vassell competed as a member of the Canadian men's national basketball program.

MIKE BECCARIA, HEAD COACH WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
After spending over 15 seasons coaching with the Knights men's basketball program, coach Beccaria assumed the head coaching position with the women's program in 2013. Coach Beccaria has a league record of 22-14 and two playoff appearances during his first two seasons with the women's program.
