Part II of the Niagara Knights Almanac: Women's Basketball

Women's Basketball Record Book (1976 – 2015)

The latest edition of the Niagara Knights historical almanac celebrates the proud tradition of the women's basketball program, beginning with the 1976-77 OCAA regular season.  The almanac permits readers to view a comprehensive collection of yearly schedules, head-to-head records, all-time statistical leaders, and single season record holders all in a one centralized location.

Furthermore, the almanac includes a sortable career and single season statistics page that allows readers to sort through a variety of categories and view records of 240 current and former student-athletes.

"Our women's basketball program has a long and storied history, beginning with an OCAA championship in the inaugural season of 1968-69," said third-year head coach Mike Beccaria.  "It's important to recognize and preserve the accomplishments of all our teams and student-athletes, and this almanac accomplishes that."

The creation of the almanac allows the department of Athletics and Recreation to properly recognize and honour student-athlete milestones in real-time.  Several career milestones will change at the conclusion of the 2015-16 regular season, with the most intriguing storyline developing between fifth-year forwards Miranda Ross (St. Catharines) and Kaitlyn McPherson (Welland).  Currently, the two are separated by one point on the career scoring list, with the potential to finish their illustrious careers near the very top of that list.

The Knights women's basketball almanac can be accessed directly by clicking on the link above or by selecting the almanac header when viewing the women's basketball homepage.

Next week will see the release of the Niagara College men's volleyball almanac.  Follow the Knights on twitter (@NC_Knights) for more updates.
