PREVIEW: Women's basketball set to host St. Clair in home opener

It's home opener time for the 2-0 Niagara College women's basketball program on Sunday, November 1st when the team hosts the talented St. Clair Saints (1-1) at 1:00pm. The Knights are coming off a two game sweep of the Cambrian Golden Shield last weekend, while the Saints defeated the Sheridan Bruins, before falling to the Humber Hawks.

The high scoring Knights are averaging 92 points-per-game in their first two contests. First-year forward Emily Naccarato (St. Catharines) leads the team averaging 16 points, while veterans Alyssa McCabe (15), Courtney McPherson (15), Miranda Ross (13), and Kaitlyn McPherson (9.5) round out the Knights offensive attack.

Defensively the team is giving up just 29.5 points against. Ross (St. Catharines) is averaging team highs in both rebounds and blocks-per-game with eight and 2.5 respectively while reigning OCAA West Rookie of the Year Courtney McPherson (Welland) looks to be in midseason form averaging eight rebounds-per-game.

Tip-off for Sunday's game is set for 1:00pm at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5.00 while students and those under the age of 17 are admitted free. For those unable to be in attendance, all Knights home games are live streamed through www.goknights.ca/watchlive
