RECAP: Knights fall flat against Falcons in London

RECAP: Knights fall flat against Falcons in London

It was not the game the Niagara Knights women's basketball program (8-7, 5th OCAA West) had envisioned when they travelled to London on Thursday night. The Knights dropped a 68-45 decision to the Fanshawe Falcons (11-4, 5th OCAA West).

Niagara got off to a slow start, scoring just 15 total in the game's first half. Brooke-Lyn Murdoch (Welland) led the Knights with 13 points in the contest. Emily Naccarato (St. Catharines) also reached double digits, adding 10 points of her own.

It will be tough sledding for the Knights remaining three game. Niagara will now have a nine day break before they head West to visit the St. Clair Saints (9-4, 4th OCAA West) and Lambton Lions (6-7, 6th OCAA West) on February 13th and 14th respectively. The Knights will return home for their final regular season game on February 19th against the undefeated Humber Hawks (15-0, 1st OCAA West).

The Niagara Knights are hosting the OCAA Women's Basketball Championship on March 3-5, 2016 at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre. Visit www.goknights.ca/ocaawbb for everything you need to know about the event.
