PREVIEW: Knights look to ground Hawks for 6th straight victory

The Niagara Knights women's basketball program looks for their 6 straight victory when they host the CCAA No. 1 ranked Humber Hawks Friday, December 8th at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre. With a record of 6-2 on the season, the Knights currently sit at 5th place in the OCAA west division and a win this Friday will continue to thrust the program into the upper tier of the OCAA.

The highly anticipated matchup looks to be nothing short of exciting as both programs have enjoyed much success in the first half of the season. If the Knights hope to ground the undefeated Hawks, they must play strong as a unit and execute on both sides of the court.

Offense will be the deciding factor Friday night, as the Hawks are averaging a commanding 96.7 points per game. After posting a career high 28 points in the Knights' 82-74 victory over Sheridan, 4th year guard Mary Ingribelli will be depended for another strong offensive contribution if they hope to keep pace with the high-flying Hawks. The St. Catharines native has been the backbone of the Knights' offence unit, averaging a whopping 18.3 points per game. A strong performance from Ingribelli could determine whether the Knights leave the court with 2 points.

Tip-off between two of the top programs in the OCAA west division is scheduled for 6pm.
