Knights Women Drop Home Opener to Sheridan 86-61

The Niagara College women's basketball team's winning woes continued Friday night in their home opening game against the Sheridan Bruins. The Bruins spoiled the Knights home opener win, 86-61.

The loss brings Niagara down to 0-4 on the season, with a game at hand against Mohawk (1-3) Thursday night.

Through the first two quarters of play, the Knights managed to stick with Sheridan, who was 1-1 prior to Friday night's match-up, trailing 20-26 to start the second half.

Sheridan had a strong third quarter, netting 29 points, while the Knights put in 13.

The Knights finished on a strong note, only allowing the Bruins 13 points in the fourth, while they added 16 of their own.

Third year guard Kaisen Mackinnon (Cole Habour, Nova Scotia) led the Knights with 13 points.

Veronika George Brown (1st year, Brampton) had a big game on the boards for the Knights, grabbing nine rebounds.

Next up the Knights will tip-off against Mohawk College on Thursday November 7th at 6:00 P.M. at the Niagara College Athletic Centre.
