KITCHENER, ON: The Niagara Knights women's basketball team (2-0) travelled to Kitchener on Friday evening to take on the Conestoga Condors. The Knights started off strong and never looked back, bringing home a 63-46 victory.
It was a full team affair, with 8 different Knights contributing to the scoreboard. The team was once again led by 4th year player, Janee Harrison contributing 17 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, and 1 block. Aisja Strachan, who is new to the Knights and has been a great pickup so far, contributed 13 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. Not to be outdone, 4th year starter Jamira Rousseau made her mark on the scoreboard, adding 11 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.
Coach Kimbal Mackenzie credited the team for their "team win where our depth played an important role". The team will take this week to rest, recover, practice to improve their shooting percentages, and prepare for their next match. The Knights will be back in action at the Simplii Financial Athletic Centre on Saturday, November 2nd with tipoff for the women's game versus the Sheridan Bruins scheduled for 12pm.
