Women's Soccer Look for Second Win Versus Conestoga

The Niagara college women's soccer program (1-1) will open their second week of regular season play on Thursday afternoon, when the team visits the Conestoga College Condors (1-0-1).

The Knights opened their 2013 season with a pair of matches last week. In their season opener the team recorded their first victory since 2010, with a September 11th win over the Redeemer University Royals.

The Knights made their 2013 home debut against the perennial powerhouse Humber Hawks on September 14th. The Knights battled hard against the three-time defending OCAA Champion Hawks, taking a 0-0 tie into halftime. The second half saw the Hawks pull away from a young Niagara side en route to a 4-0 victory.

Coming off a 2012 campaign that saw the team finish with a record on 2-3-3, the Condors are off to a strong start recording an opening match draw versus the Lambton Lions (1-0-1) and a 2-1 home field victory over the Mohawk Mountaineers (0-2).

The Knights will look between the goal posts for the continued strong play of keeper Melanie Bajic. Bajic was outstanding in both matches for the team and was named Niagara College female athlete of the week for her performance.

Kickoff is set for 4:00pm at Woodside Park #2 in Kitchener. For up to date information please visit www.goknights.ca.
