Julia Pantusa Joins Women's Soccer Program

The Niagara College women's soccer program bolstered its 2014 recruiting class on Tuesday, with the announcement of the addition of Niagara United midfielder Julia Pantusa. Pantusa is a two time OFSAA bronze medalist with the Saint Paul Catholic High School Patriots.

The five-foot-four native of Niagara Falls will enroll in the Niagara College broadcasting, radio, television, and film program, and she has aspirations of working on the production side of the industry.

"I think Niagara College will be an enjoyable place for me" said Pantusa. "My program seems awesome, and I'm looking forward to the experience of starting the next chapter in my life."

"Julia has been a member of two solid programs and has obviously been groomed by good coaches" said Niagara College women's soccer head coach Frank DeChellis.

Pantusa was one of 25 prospective student-athletes that took part in the Knights' pre-summer evaluation camp on Sunday, May 4th. Her performance left a strong impression with the coaching staff.

DeChellis continued "she is a refined player who shows a lot of poise on both sides of the ball. She is patient in possession and demonstrates no fear in taking a chance to make something happen. We are really looking forward to building on, and developing her tactical knowledge."

Pantusa joins the Knights' 2014 recruiting class that already includes forward Rebecca Morrison (Erin, ON) and midfielder Emily Babcock (Caledon East, ON).

She added "The girls on the team seem great, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone better and developing as a person and as a team over the next few years."
