PREVIEW: Women’s Soccer hungry for first win

After a heartbreaking season opening road loss to the Fanshawe Falcons, the Niagara Knights Women's Soccer team looks to regroup and capture their first victory of the 2017-2018 season in front of the home crowd against the Mohawk College Mountaineers.

The Knight's bolster a relatively new lineup this year, having nine of the eighteen players on the roster looking to make their Knight's home debut Wednesday afternoon. Hopefully the Knights' rookies can feed off the hometown crowd's energy and bring their team a much needed first victory of the year.

First year striker Michelle Maecker will look to keep finding success on the pitch after a successful OCAA debut that saw her net her first goal as a Knight during the season opener against Fanshawe. Another strong performance from the rookie could provide the Knights with much needed offensive boost on the pitch.

The Niagara College Women's Soccer program hosts the Mohawk Mountaineers Wednesday, September 13th at the Young Sports Complex, located in Welland, at 4:00pm.
