PREVIEW: Women's soccer look to stay hot against Mohawk

The Niagara Knights women's soccer program is on a roll. The Knights have rattled off three straight victories, currently sporting a record of 3-3, while sitting comfortably in fourth place in the OCAA West Division.

Tuesday, October 3rd will see the team look to extend their winning streak to four, when they travel to Hamilton take on the Mohawk Mountaineers (5-1-1, 2nd OCAA West).

The two teams last met on September 13th in a hard fought match that saw the Mountaineers edge out a 2-0 road victory. The difference in the contest proved to be a brief five minute breakdown that saw Mohawk notch two goals before the 20 minute mark, a hole that proved too big for the Knights to crawl out of.

The Knights will look to ride the red hot scoring touch of first year striker Michelle Maecker. The Fonthill native has three goals in the last two games and five total through her first six matches in the OCAA. In net the team will continue lean on rookie keeper Alexis Hebert (Waterdown) who is coming off back to back shutout performances against the Redeemer Royals and Lambton Lions.

Kickoff for Tuesday's key OCAA West Division matchup is set for 6:00pm.
