PREVIEW: Knights look for key division win against Saints

After battling to a scoreless draw against the #9 CCAA ranked Fanshawe Falcons, the Niagara Knights look to go undefeated in six straight games as they square off against the St. Clair Saints (5-2-1, 3rd OCAA West) at home Saturday, October 14th. The Knights are currently 5 points behind the Saints in the their division, and a win Saturday afternoon would put the women in prime striking distance to overtake them for third in the west.

The last time these two teams squared off, the Saints scored heartbreaker in the 90th minute to win the game 2-1. The knights are looking to get their revenge on the Saints after playing some impressive soccer as of late, going 3-0-2 since the last time these two teams went head to head.

In their last two games, the Knights have allowed zero goals to Fanshawe and Mohawk, the top programs in the west division. After a very impressive performance against some of the top teams in the west, the Knights will need their defense to be outstanding as the Saints' 34 goals-for ranks 5th in the entire OCCA.

After another impressive performance against Fanshawe, Knights' rookie keeper Alexis Hebert (Waterdown, Ont.) enters the game with 4 straight shutouts. Her 0.940 save percentage ranks 3rd amongst all OCAA goalies. The Knights will surely look to Hebert to shut down the high-powered Saints' offense Saturday afternoon.

Kickoff for Saturday's key OCAA West Division at Youngs Sportsplex is set for 2:00pm.
