PREVIEW: Knights look to finish regular season strong with win against Redeemer

The Niagara Knights women's soccer program (3-4-2, 4th OCAA West) looks to finish their season off strong with a win against the Redeemer Royals (0-9, 6th OCAA West). With 4th place in the OCAA west division standings locked up, the Knights hope that a strong team performance against the Royals will give them some much needed confidence heading into their cross-divisional matchup Sunday against the Seneca Sting (8-2-1, 2nd OCAA East).

The Royals are winless this season and Wednesday's game against the Knights possess as their last opportunity to change their winless ways. Therefore, the Knights must not take this team lightly as they are a desperate team hungry to finish their season off strong with a win.

The last time these programs competed against one another, the Knights dominated the Royals for a 6-0 win. The Knights' offence came alive as 2nd year winger Alexandria Craig (Oakville, Ont.) scored a hat-trick, and 1st year striker Michelle Maecker (Fonthill, Ont.) potted two of her own. The offence has been quiet as of late, but the Knights hope that their previous success against the Royals can help them find their scoring touch heading into the qualifying game Sunday against Seneca.

Kickoff for Wednesday afternoon's matchup is 4pm at Youngs Sportsplex in Welland.
