PREVIEW: Knights look to book ticket to OCAA chmpionship with win over Seneca

The Niagara Knights women's soccer program travels to Seneca Field in Toronto to battle against the Seneca Sting Sunday, October 22nd for a spot in the OCAA championship. The Niagara Knights (3-4-3) Finished 4th in the OCAA west Standings, while the Seneca Sting (9-2-1) finished second in the OCAA east.

Rookie keeper Alexis Hebert (Waterdown, Ont.) enters the match Sunday allowing only one goal in her first six OCAA starts. Seneca is ranked 2nd in OCAA scoring with 53 goals, therefore the Knights will need Hebert to turn out another outstanding performance.

The Knights defense has been solid all season, allowing a mere 8 goals in 10 regular season games. Defenders Shannon Halliday (Welland, Ont.), Lauren Frasca (Welland, Ont.), and Genny Frick (St. Catharines) must continue to shut down the backfield for the Knights in the hope to book their ticket to the OCAA championship.

Cambrian College hosts 2017 belairdirect OCAA Women's Soccer Championship from Oct. 26-28 at the Honourable James Jerome Sports Complex in Sudbury. Kickoff for Sunday's crossover matchup is set for 1pm.
