Gary grew up playing for soccer teams in Manchester, England before emigrating to Canada at the age of 13.  Here he played junior soccer for Club Heidelberg (St. Catharines) U19 team that played the Ontario Cup Final in 1970.

Gary dominated the pitch when he played for the University of Western Ontario (1972-76), where he was named co-captain and MVP during his senior year. He spent 15 more years playing competitively following his university career, suiting up for Club Heidelberg and Niagara Falls Legion 51.

On the coaching front, Condon has over 40 years of coaching under his belt. He assisted

in launching soccer as a sanctioned sport in high schools throughout the Niagara region in 1976, spent 23 years as St. Catharines Collegiate High School Head Coach reaching SOSSA 5 times, and 10 years as head coach of the St. Catharines Jets Women's Soccer Club (2005-2014) at the premier/elite leve in the SRSL.

He currently holds his "Soccer for Life" certification with the OSA, and he just completed his 10th year an assistant for Niagara College.
