With over 40 years of coaching experience, Coach Rob Lalama brings a lifetime of soccer knowledge and expertise to the Knights’ sideline.

Beginning his long coaching career at the impressively young age of 14, Lalama has since gone on to complete his Pre-B Assessment with the Ontario Soccer Association (2008), and receive the Gil Beaulieu Memorial Trophy as Welland’s Outstanding Coach of the Year (2009).

But perhaps the most impressive thing to take away from Lalama’s resume is his ability to find success wherever he coaches, which is evident in his two Ontario Cup Finals appearances (2007, 2009) and OYSL promotion (2008) while coaching at the youth level in Welland, ON. 

Today, Lalama remains active in youth soccer in his role as Technical Director at the Welland Soccer Club. In this role, he focuses his efforts on grass root development throughout the community.

In just two years as Head Coach of the Knights, Lalama has helped the program flourish, establishing numerous program records:

Most OCAA All-Stars – Regular Season: 4 (Lauren Frasca, Kara Latham, Sophia Al-Kayed, Michelle Maecker; 2018)
