PREVIEW: Women's Volleyball

The Niagara College women's volleyball (9-3, 3rd West) program will be looking to extend their win streak to three straight matches Thursday night, as they host the Fanshawe Falcons (3-7, 7th West) at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre.

Coming off an impressive come-from-behind win against Redeemer (6-5, 5th West), the Knights will be looking to roll with the momentum and sweep the season series against Fanshawe.  The last time these two teams faced off, Niagara College came away with an impressive 3-0 victory on the road.  Third year outside hitter Linnea Davis (Brampton) led the Knights with a game-high 11 points.

Just four points away from the final playoff spot, Fanshawe will be looking for the upset to keep their season alive.  The Falcons are on a three game losing streak, failing to win one set over that span.

Coming into this match, all eyes will be on Fanshawe's fifth year middle blocker Stephanie Bignell (Drayton), who is currently four career stuff blocks away from being number one all-time.  Former Durham athlete and current Seneca assistant coach, Mandi Doris, holds the career record with 217 stuff blocks from 2005-10.
