PREVIEW: Women's Volleyball Set to Face Off Against Sheridan

On Thursday, February 12, the Niagara College women's volleyball (13-3, 2nd West) program will be hosting the Sheridan Bruins (12-5, 3rd West).  The Knights are winners of their last six contests and will be looking to end the 2014-15 OCAA regular season in second place.

The Knights are coming off a straight-set sweep of the Fanshawe Falcons (5-12, 7th West) and were led offensively by fifth year outside hitter Lucy McLay (Stratford), who had a team-high 13 points.  The Bruins have lost two of their last three matches, with their last loss coming from Redeemer College (10-6, 5th West).

The last time these two teams met, the circumstances were very similar.  The Knights were on a six-game winning streak and recently ranked number 11 in the CCAA when they went to Sheridan and lost 3-2 – 25-15, 21-25, 21-25, 27-25, 6-15.  Madison Morgan (Whitby) had 19 points for the Knights in the loss, while Nicole Schoonderwoerd (Tavistock) added 11 points of her own.

Before the game, the Niagara College Department of Athletics and Recreation will be honouring twelve graduating players who will be presented with framed and personalized individual photos to recognize their academic success.
