NEWS: Women's Volleyball announces addition of Kelsey Soules

The Niagara College women's volleyball program is pleased to announce the addition of towering six-foot-two middle blocker Kelsey Soules. Soules joins the Knights out of Sherwood Secondary School in Hamilton, Ontario.

"When visiting the campus and watching Niagara compete I knew right away that this would be an excellent opportunity and a great place to play" said Soules after committing to the 2017 OCAA bronze medalist Knights.

Soules will enroll in the Niagara College community justice services program beginning in September of 2017.

"Kelsey Soules has the size and athleticism to be a dominant middle both in our league and beyond" said Niagara College women's volleyball head coach Nathan Janzen. "With such a high ceiling, we can't wait to start teaching her the game at this level."

"I met coach Janzen at one of my games and he introduced me to Niagara College" continued Soules. "He has been more than helpful during this decision process, making sure I take the right path in order to reach my goals as both an athlete and a student."

Janzen sees significant potential in the 18 year old Soules "already with her high school team, Kelsey is a great leader and a go to scorer. We are excited to have her join our program."

Soules lists her goals while competing for the Knights as maintaining a high average in her classes, and improving her overall physical strength and consistency as a player.

The Knights wrapped up another successful season on February 26th with a bronze medal at the 2017 OCAA Championship, the third consecutive season the team has secured a spot on the podium. Niagara finished the 2016-17 regular season with a record of 15-3, and saw Jordan Koslowski (a fellow Sherwood Secondary alumni) named a CCAA All-Canadian.
