PREVIEW: Knights look to make it two in a row in last year's bronze medal rematch versus St. Clair

The Niagara Knights women’s volleyball program (3-1, 3rd OCAA West) will look to make it two in a row when they host the St. Clair Saints (3-1, 4thOCAA West) Saturday, November 18th in last year’s OCAA bronze match rematch. Last year’s season series between the two programs saw the Knights earn victories at home (3-1) and on the road (3-0). The latest matchup between the two programs came in last year’s OCAA Bronze medal match, which saw Niagara claim bronze with a 3 sets to 2 match victory. St. Clair is looking for revenge, and the Knights better be prepared for this program to attack them early and often.

If the Knights hope to be successful Saturday afternoon, the program must rely on veteran outside hitter’s Rachel Rivers (St. Catharines, Ont.) and Jordan Koslowski (Hamilton Ont.). Both of these Knights’ players have enjoyed very successful starts to their season both averaging 3.7 points per set, good enough for 4th and 5th in the OCAA. These two have been the backbone of this Knights’ program this season, and will be relied upon heavily if they hope to build on last year’s success.

This is a very well-rounded St. Clair program offensively, who currently has four members of their program averaging 2.5 points per set. The Knights must be able to close sets effectively because if they don’t, this Saints’ program has the tools to make them pay.

This OCAA west divisional matchup at the Welland Campus Athletic Centre is scheduled for 1230pm.
