RECAP: Knights end regular season with 3-0 victory over Royals

Saturday, February 10th saw the Niagara Knights women's volleyball program defeat the hometown Redeemer Royals (3-15, 9th OCAA West) 3-0. Saturday's matchup ends the Knights' 2017-18 regular season with a record of 11-7, currently sitting them at 4th spot in the OCAA West Division standings. The final set scores of the match were 25-12, 25-22, and 25-15.

The Knights controlled them tempo through all three sets, answering each Redeemer attack with one of their own. Niagara was the more efficient hitting team Saturday night, accumulating 25 kills on 80 attempts compared to Redeemer's 18 of 87.

Pacing the Knights offensively was their 4th year outside hitter Rachel Rivers (Cambridge, Ont.) who finished with a match high 11 points. Leading the defensive charge for the Knights was 1st year libero Ainsleigh McInnes-Williams (Mount Hope, Ont.) with a team high 6 digs.

Royals' outside hitters Abby Sluys (Thamesville, Ont.) and Alenna Reenders (Narol, MB) led the offence tied for 7 kills a piece.

The Knights currently sit in 4th spot in the OCAA division, but a Mohawk victory in their upcoming matchup against Conestoga (Feb 14th) would drop Niagara to 5th as they hold the tiebreaker between the two programs. The Knights now must play the waiting game to determine where and who the program will play in their crossover match.
