RECAP: Knights Fall to Mountaineers; Look to rebound against St. Clair

Saturday, January 20th saw the Niagara Knights women's volleyball program drop a straight set decision to the Mohawk Mountaineers (7-4, 5th OCAA West). The loss puts the Knights at 7-5 on the season, dropping them to 6th spot in the OCAA West Division. The set scores were 25-13, 25-19, 25-23.

After dropping the first two sets to Mohawk, Niagara battled hard in the third set, putting themselves in position for the victory. It went down to the wire in the finals points of the third set, but it was ultimately Mohawk closing out the game for their 7th victory of the season.

"After losing to them at home earlier this season, it was disappointing that we couldn't get the victory on the road," said Knights' head coach Nathan Janzen. "Mohawk played great throughout the match, playing tenacious defence and hitting efficiently."

Leading the Knights offensively was their 4th year outside hitter Amy Bultje (Chatham, Ont.), who contributed 7 kills and a total of 10 points.

The Knights will look to rebound from this loss when they travel to Windsor, Ontario Friday, January 26th to square off against the St. Clair Saints (9-4, 3rd OCAA West).
