RECAP: Women's Volleyball impressive in home court win over Sheridan

Saturday, November 25th saw the Niagara Knights women's volleyball program improve to 5-2 on the season with an impressive 3-1 home court victory over the visiting Sheridan Bruins. The set scores in the contest were 25-19, 26-28, 25-23, 25-16.

The difference in the contest proved to be the Knights defensive game as Niagara out blocked Sheridan 8-2 and won dig differential 66-50.

"We played well today" said Knights head coach Nathan Janzen. "We showed some real flashes today of what we are capable of, and we came away with two important points."

 The Knights were carried offensively by their veteran dynamic outside hitter duo of Rachel Rivers (Cambridge) and Jordan Koslowski (Hamilton). Both standouts finished with a match high 17 kills, with Koslowski adding an impressive five service aces and 15 digs, while Rivers provided four blocks and 14 digs.

The win moves the OCAA No. 4 ranked Knights to 5-2 on the season and into third place in the ultra-competitive OCAA West Division. The Knights have just one match remaining before heading into the mid-season break. The team will host the Redeemer Royals (1-6, 8th West) at 6:00pm on Thursday, November 30th.
