RECAP: Knights fall to Falcons; Look for redemption against Conestoga

On Thursday, November 2nd, the Welland Campus Athletic Centre played host to the third annual Blue and White Home Opener that saw the gym packed with 650 roaring spectators. Unfortunately, the electricity in the building wasn't enough as the Niagara Knights women's volleyball program (2-1, 3rd OCAA West) was defeated by the Mohawk Mountaineers (1-2, OCAA West) in three straight sets.

The Knights battled hard through all 3 sets, but the Mountaineers' attack, led by 3rd right side hitter Lindsay Vanderweide (Waterdown, Ont.) proved to be too much for the nights in this early season matchup.

Leading the Knights offensively was 1st year outside hitter Natasha Desjardins (Welland Ont.). The Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School product finished the game with a team high 6 kills and 2 aces.

The Knights look to rebound when they travel to Kitchener, Ont. to face off against the Conestoga Condors Thursday, November 9th at 6pm.
